My name is Ashleigh Wilcox, I am a 22 year old Computer Science Graduate from Jacksonville State University and I am in love with technology.
My passion is to inspire young black girls to pursue their dreams in the tech industry and to own it. We too can do all things through Christ ladies, so why not show up and show out in an industry lead by men.
My personal style with my hair is one of a proud naturalista. I've sported a TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro), twist outs, braids, bantu knots, wings, weaves etc. Throughout my hair journey, it has taught me so much patience and appreciation for us 4C texture ladies, because we also have amazing hair, that doesn't have to be tamed to make others feel more comfortable.
At first, it was really challenging for me getting comfortable in my own skin, and loving the way I looked. So, I prayed about it and I started my self love journey and chose to LEARN how to love myself, EMBRACE how unique I am, and DISCOVER my own personal style, my confidence skyrocketed.
So I will always continue to strive to show young girls It's okay to stand out AND it's okay to blend in, what is for you will always be yours no matter how you approach it, but you loving yourself is the gift that keeps on giving.
